Concrete Studio started in 2001 as a hobby for the owner. The 'hobby' gradually turned to passion after attending decorative training schools in Illinois, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia & Nevada—not really like working, just having fun turning something of the everyday (concrete) into something with intrinsic visual appeal and value.
Mr. Mendoza, the owner, started college life in chemistry and work life in construction concrete coatings, cement admixtures and process chemicals. In 1983 he formed Delex Chemicals, Inc., which formulated, manufactured and distributed industrial specialty process aids, detergents and coatings. Delex grew with national distribution into a successful enterprise.
Concrete Studio is a family business. Mrs. Mendoza provides the accounting, administrative & business skills to operate the business—Mr. Mendoza does what she tells him to do. Concrete Studio's hand-crafted stained & engraved concrete floors are decorated by Mr. Mendoza.
We respect the environment. So, we use only low VOC, Low odor coloring and coating systems. We do not approve of the commonly used and highly toxic reactive stains and highly volatile/dangerous sealants. We are always searching for superior systems and values for our clients.
